William R. Shook, Sr. – Obituary
Born on March 17, 1943 in Maple Shade, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Marie Shook.
William was raised in Wyoming and then lived in Mt. Carmel for 30 years before moving to the Lock Haven area where he has resided for more than 25 years.
William served in the United States Navy.
He was employed as a truck driver, having driven for PP&L for 18 years as well as for other companies.
William was a Scoutmaster with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for 18 years.
He enjoyed car shows, fishing, and going out to breakfast on Sunday mornings with his best friend, Charlie.
William’s many friends could often be heard referring to him as either “Cowboy” or “Mr. Bill.”
He was a great Dad and Grandfather who cherished the time he spent with his family.
Surviving are five children: Christine (Paul) Zarko of Mt. Carmel, Carolyn (Bob) Bolick of Sunbury, William (Tina) Shook, Jr. of Overlook, Justin Musser of Beech Creek, and Charlotte Anspach of Etters; three sisters: Marie Montgomery of Guernsey, WY, Elaine (Rex) McGraw of Winston, OR, and Joanne (Larry) Snook of Wheatland, WY; seven grandchildren: Tianna and Savannah Kobilis, Trent Shook, Taylor Hofffman, Riley Utter, Jack Anspach, and Scott (Caitland) Bolick; and one great granddaughter, Faith Bolick.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 6 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington with the Rev. Alan Eckenroad officiating.
Friends and family will be received at the funeral home from 5 P.M. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
