Sidewalk on Mill Hall Bridge to Close Friday
MILL HALL – With work continuing on the Main Street Bridge replacement project in Mill Hall, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is advising area residents that the sidewalk on the existing bridge will be closed this Friday.
Closure of the sidewalk is necessary so that demolition of the bridge can take place. Pedestrians can access Mill Hall locations by using the Church Street Bridge.
The old bridge, which is structurally deficient, is being replaced with a two-span concrete spread box beam bridge. It will span Fishing Creek in the village of Mill Hall and will carry an average of almost 1,300 vehicles a day. It will also feature a pedestrian sidewalk. Replacement was made possible by funding from Act 89.
A short detour around the project remains in place for motorists. The detour makes use of Route 64, Route 150 (Eagle Valley Road), Pennsylvania Avenue, and Main Street in Mill Hall.
The detour will be in place throughout the project, which is scheduled to last through sometime next month.
Clearwater Construction, Inc. of Mercer, PA is the contractor for this $2.2 million project. Work includes construction of a new bridge, water line relocation, sidewalk, drainage, and guide rail improvements, and roadway paving. All work is weather dependent.
