Lindsay Reese Named Head Coach for LHU Lacrosse

lhu-laxLOCK HAVEN – Lindsay (Rentel) Reese, a 2007 Lock Haven University graduate has been named the new lacrosse coach.

Reese enjoyed a stellar playing career at LHU (2004-07) and earned her bachelor of science in sports administration in December, 2007. She went on to earn a master’s in Sports Management from East Tennessee State University in 2010.

“I’m excited and honored for the opportunity to coach at my alma mater,” said Reese. “The foundation for success has been set and I look forward to continuing the tradition that is LHU lacrosse.”

Reese returns to Lock Haven after spending the last three seasons (2013-15) as head coach at nearby Lycoming College.

At Lycoming, Reese went 19-29 overall and led the Warriors to a 10-6 record last season (2015).

The 2015 season marked Lycoming’s first winning season since 2010 and Reese also led a pair of players to All-Conference honors, including the Middle Atlantic Conference’s leading scorer.

In all, she led six players to All-MAC honors while at Lycoming.

Prior to her first career head coaching position at Lycoming, Reese served as an assistant coach at Slippery Rock University during the 2011 and ’12 seasons. She was an assistant at Lycoming in 2010.

Reese (Rentel) made 64 starts during her Bald Eagle playing career and served as a two-year team captain for former LHU head coach Kristen Selvage. Known for her offensive prowess, she scored 143 career goals and dished out 64 assists. Reese was First Team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in 2006 and earned All-American honors during the same season.

Selvage resigned earlier this year to accept a head coaching job at Coastal Carolina University.

During her playing career at LHU, the Bald Eagles advanced to the NCAA Final Four twice (’05 & ’07) and played in PSAC Championship matches.

“I’m excited to announce Lindsay as our new coach and look forward to her leading the program into the future,” said LHU Director of Athletics Tom Gioglio. “Being an alumna of the program, she understands the history and tradition at LHU, and knows what it will take to continue our long standing success at the national level.”

Reese, a native of Medford Lakes, New Jersey and Shawnee High School graduate now resides in Jersey Shore with her husband and daughter.
