cm-basketballBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Central Mountain boys basketball team will be heading northwest to Ridgway, looking for their second win of the season and looking to score some points.

The Wildcats held a 22-21 halftime lead in their home game with Hollidaysburg Monday night but the second half belonged to the Golden Tigers. The visitors went on a 17-0 run which lasted all of the third quarter and more than four minutes of the fourth quarter.

By the time Central Mountain would score its only two points of the second half it was 38-24 Tigers with 3:19 remaining in the game; the final score was 43-24.

Travis Turchetta led the Wildcats with 9 points, all in the first half.

The loss dropped Central Mountain to 1-3 on the season following an initial win, 63-55, at Selinsgrove last Friday. Turchetta and fellow senior Tyler Everhart combined for 46 points, pumping in nine 3-pointers between them.

Seals coach Mike Stebila complimented the Wildcats on being a good shooting team; little did he or the Wildcats know what awaited them the next time out at home with Hollidaysburg (2-3).

Ridgway is 3-1 on the season, coming off a 46-25 win over Curwensville.

After the trip to Ridgway the Wildcats will be off until participating in the Penns Valley Holiday Tournament Dec. 27-28.
