Kiosk, Webcam Ceremony Sunday

LOCK HAVEN – Two new outdoor attractions in support of the City of Lock Haven’s efforts to promote itself as a River Town community will be revealed during the first, free summer concert on the floating stage at the J. Doyle Corman Amphitheatre on Sunday, June 21.

The two attractions include:

A three-panel kiosk, installed at the entrance to the amphitheater on East Water Street, will showcase a River Town Orientation panel, Greenway Orientation panel, and a community bulletin board. The kiosk is made possible through funding provided by the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership, PPL Corp., and Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. Designed by The Idea Factory, the kiosk was installed by M&R Contracting. It includes various public landmarks and attractions.

A webcam located at the top of the amphitheater and along the riverwalk will display a panoramic view of the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, including the Riverwalk, the floating stage and Veterans Memorial Bridge. Sure to be a popular attraction from the start, the webcam is made possible through funding from the Lock Haven Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 100, and Lodge Giosue Carducci #146, plus in-kind services from Keystone Community Network (KCnet), and Tri-M Group for installation. Once fully operational, the webcam will stream video live 24/7 via the internet and links posted on www.lockhavenpa.gov, www.lockhaven.org, and www.clintoncountyinfo.com.

There will be a brief ceremony at 6 p.m. June 21 to dedicate the kiosk by officials with the River Town Task Force, Downtown Lock Haven, the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership, the city and others. The webcam will be unveiled just prior to the concert, which will feature SNUG and starts at 6:30 p.m.
