Drug Abuse Options Discussed

RENOVO –  Approximately 50 people, many from Lock Haven,  were on hand for The Advocates for a Drug Free Tomorrow held second meeting in Renovo last Wednesday night at  the Western Clinton County Recreation Center. Last week’s session was a forum for open discussion about existing drug problems in the Renovo community and what area residents can do to curb or stop drug abuse. Officials agreed resolving drug problems takes time and needs the willingness of residents to keep working toward a drug free community. Clinton County Commissioners Pete Smeltz, Jeff Snyder and Joel Long and Judge Craig Miller all commented on the importance of conquering the drug problems.  While there were about the same number of people Wednesday evening as there had been a month ago when the Advocates presented a free showing of the movie “Anonymous People.”  Denise Feger, chairperson for the Advocates, said they had been hoping for a larger turnout from the community.
