Flags of Honor 2025 to Stretch Over 10 Days

LOCK HAVEN — Flags for Memorial Day are a tradition now in Triangle Park. This year’s Flags of Honor display of respect and love will continue past Memorial Day, until Sunday, June 1st.

Flags of Honor is a project of the Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven, but everyone may participate by sponsoring one or more full-sized American flags to remember or honor someone special.

To sponsor a flag, mail payment and information to Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven, P.O. Box 634, Lock Haven, PA 17745.

Be sure to include:
— Your name, phone number, mailing address, and email address.
— The name and wording you would like on the flag plaque.
— A check for $35 per flag made out to “Downtown Lock Haven Rotary”.

Each name is printed on a plaque and displayed on a flagpole. The names of the sponsors and of those honored will be published and will appear in the official event booklet.

The display will begin the evening of Friday, May 23rd when the park will fill up with flags, ready for Memorial Day. This year, the city approved allowing the flags to fly until June 1st so that everyone has a chance to see the display, to walk through the flags, and to read the names on the plaques.

If you send your order soon, you won’t have to worry about missing the deadline which is Monday, May 12th. Orders received after that date will be held for the 2026 event.

Businesses are invited to become Corporate Sponsors with a donation of $100. Each will receive a sign to display in the business, and each will be named in the booklet and on a banner displayed in the park.

Proceeds support scholarships for Central Mountain High School seniors and also help local nonprofits.

If you need more information or would like an order form, contact Wendy at 570-295-3443, send an email to dlhrotary@gmail.com, or find Downtown Lock Haven Rotary on Facebook.
