Obituary – Paul Dimitry Valcheff III

March 15, 1961 — March 18, 2025
At 64, Paul Dimitry Valcheff III of Cumming, GA succumbed to a relentless battle with glioblastoma.

Paul radiated gentleness, strength, and Christ-like love. His devotion to family was unwavering. His love language was acts of service; he willingly carried the heaviest burdens without complaint. Grounded in his Roman Catholic faith, he embraced hope over fear and accepted his illness without self-pity.

In the toughest circumstances, he remained unshaken, consistently responding with grace — choosing patience over anger; forgiveness over resentment. Paul lived with integrity and character, undeterred by judgment.

Paul admired the wisdom of Zig Ziglar and Dale Carnegie and strived to apply their principles to his life. He served his parish youth through a faith formation program, was a member of High Tech Ministries, guided his Homeowners Association as a Board of Directors member, and volunteered to repair homes in need.

Paul was fascinated by technology, dedicating his career to helping SaaS companies monetize their concepts. Paul was intrigued by how technology could solve problems, create opportunities, and enrich lives.

Outside of work, Paul enjoyed rock music (Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Boston), science fiction (Robert Heinlein), and the simple pleasure of a good meal. His Penn State sweatshirt collection is a coveted family treasure. But his well-known legacy remains his servant-hearted generosity and steadfast devotion to his family.

Born in Sewickley, PA to Anneliese (Straub) and Paul Dimitry Valcheff Jr., Paul was the eldest of four children raised in the family’s Hyde Park home.

As a graduate of Moon Area High School Class of 1979, Paul attended Penn State University and was a brother in the fraternity Phi Sigma Kappa. His B.S. in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Economics degree led to employment in DC, CT, and CA before settling in GA near his loving in-laws, Cynthia and Walter Hedzik.

He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Kimberly and three children – Carly (27), Christian (22), and Julianna (20), and siblings Barbara Dickson (Tom) of Oakmont, PA, Christopher Valcheff (Jess) of Barneveld, WI, and Eric Valcheff (Lucy) of Crafton, PA, his brother-in law Kevin Hedzik (Bea) of Fairfield, Ohio, and in-laws Cynthia and Walter Hedzik, as well as his Aunt Donna Hundt of Boise, ID, Aunt Rose Straub of Essing, Germany, and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
