Words of Grace
By Rev. Mahlon Nevel
“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision,” the prophet declared, “For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.” (Joel 3:14).
Armageddon will be the last battle fought. It will take place at the end of the Great Tribulation.
When God warns the people of coming judgment, he always gives them the chance to make the right decision: turn to the Lord.
Evangelist Billy Graham preached the gospel to multitudes of people for many years. He invited them to come forward and make a decision for Christ.
Some of us remember the words of a chorus we sung in Sunday School: “I have decided to follow Jesus… No turning back, no turning back.”
Jesus went through all of the region of Galilee teaching the Word of God, preaching the Gospel, and healing the sick. Multitudes of people surrounded him. He saw, them as lost sheep who needed a Shepherd.
“The harvest truly is plentiful,” he said to his disciples, “but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37).
What could the disciples do? They could pray for the lost. (V.38) Jesus came to save the lost. (18:11)
The apostle Paul prayed for the lost. His desire and prayer to God was that they would be saved. (Romans 10:1)
“People need the Lord, people need the Lord; When will we realize people need the Lord.”
