No. 12 LHU Women’s Wrestling hosts Ursinus and No. 23 Gannon on Senior Day
LOCK HAVEN – The 12th-ranked Lock Haven women’s wrestling team (9-9 overall) returned to Thomas Fieldhouse for the first time in 2024-25 to host Ursinus and Gannon in a tri-match on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 2).
Prior to the match, the Bald Eagles honored seniors Lily Sherer and Jessica Johnson for their contributions and dedication to Lock Haven and the women’s wrestling program. Sherer and Johnson have been a crucial part of building the women’s wrestling program from the ground up at Lock Haven.
Lock Haven rebounded with a 34-12 victory over No. 23 Gannon (11-3 overall) after falling to Ursinus (9-5 overall) 24-23 in the first match of the day.
In the neutral site match, Ursinus took down Gannon, 24-19.

Ursinus won the opening match of the day, 24-23, over The Haven.
For Lock Haven, Marissa Rumsey pinned (2:04) Paisley Fox at 145# and Lily Sherer won by decision (7-0) to pick up victories.
Jayleah Pletz, Lindsay Laws and Trinity Monaghan won by forfeit.
With the match victory already secured, Ursinus forfeited at 180# and 207#.
Lock Haven vs. Gannon Recap
The Haven rebounded in its second match by downing national-ranked Gannon, 34-12.
Gannon forfeited at 103# and 110#, giving wins to Summer Batts and Taylor Bloom.
Lock Haven extended its lead to 24-0 following three straight victories, including an 11-0 tech fall (2:05) by Jayleah Pletz at 117# and a pin by Isabella Devito at 124#. Sherer won by forfeit at 131#.
Rumsey earned her second win of the day with a 10-0 tech fall (4:11) at 145#.
At 207#, No. 3 Alyssa Favara put an exclamation point on the Bald Eagles’ victory with a 10-0 (1:07) tech fall.
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles hit the road and will travel to York, Pennsylvania for three matches to conclude the 2024-25 regular season. The Haven will compete against York, Cedar Crest and Delaware Valley.
