Obituary -William A. Gebhardt

William A. Gebhardt, 79, of Lock Haven passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 at home.
Born March 18, 1945 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Esther and Harry Gebhardt who preceded him in death.

He was a 1963 graduate of Lock Haven High School, attended Lock Haven State Teacher College, and proudly served in the country in the US Army as Military Police from 1967 to 1969.

He was the beloved brother of Ann Lipez and beloved father of Harry and Kelley Gebhardt.

He worked at Sears Roebuck while taking night classes to become a machinist. After working at local machine shops from 1979-1985, he started his own business, Bald Eagle Precision Machine Company in 1985. He ran this company very successfully form 15 years until he retired.

While owning and operating Bald Eagle Precision Machine Company, he designed and built world renowned front rifle rests, rear bags, and other shooting tools for bench rest target/varmint shooting. In 2000, he manufactured parts that were put on the Hubble Telescope. In 2010, he sold his bench rest business to Grizzly Imports.

In his younger years, he was an avid bench rest shooter and held World Records during that time. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Consistory, and Shriners, Elks Lodge 182, and a life member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his sister, Ann Lipez; his son, Harry Gebhardt (and his wife, Bethany Gebhardt); his daughter, Kelley Gebhardt (and her husband, Richard Allen); three grandchildren: Katherine Gebhardt, Jacob Gebhardt and Cullen Allen); and his former wife, Donna Lannan.

A private funeral service and public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The time and date will be announced when set.
