Wildcats Lead King of Mountain After 1st Day

MILL HALL-Day one of the King of The Mountain Tournament is complete and the host Central Mountain Wildcats are sitting in first place and have advanced five wrestlers into the 32-team championship quarterfinals. The Wildcats still have four other wrestlers still alive in the consolation rounds.
Making their way into the Saturday morning championship quarterfinals are Gavin Heverly (114), Aiden Kunes (127), Patrick Tarantella (139), Dalton Perry (145) and Bryce Brungard (189). Still alive in the consolations are Luke Ananea (152), Dalton McDermott (172), Todd Caris (215), Hayes Henry (285).
Central Mountain sits in first place in the team race with 75 points, while Boyertown is second with 73 points and Parkland is in third place with 72.5 points. Chambersburg is fourth with 70 points, while Altoona is fifth with 60 points and Montoursville sixth with 68.5 points. The rest of the top ten are General McLane (59.5), State College (58.5), Mifflin County (58) and Northern York (57.5). Bald Eagle Area is in 16th place, while Bellefonte is in 17th place after the first day.
The Championship Quarterfinals get underway Saturday morning at 10:00 and action continues through the day until the championship finals are set for 4:15 pm.
