Obituary – James I. Miller

James I. Miller, 92, of Hobson St., Mill Hall passed away Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital emergency room. He was born January 12, 1932 to the late Clifford and Lillian Barner Miller of Mill Hall.

James graduated from the old Mill Hall High School in 1949 and had been employed by the New York and Pennsylvania Paper Company, Wood Chips , Inc., Clintondale Flour Mill and Susque-View Nursing Home.

He was united in marriage to the former Shirley J. Wise on September 19, 1950, she preceded him in death on August 1, 2019.

James enjoyed driving truck, camping, traveling, bowling, wood crafts, and could repair almost anything. He and his wife enjoyed music and was a part of a guitar entertainment group for many years, they also enjoyed square dancing. He had volunteered for the Clinton County Fair for over twenty years and the Susque-View Home where they chaired wheelchair square dancing along with other nursing homes. He was a blood donor and had given 13 gallons of blood. He attended the Mill Hall United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son; Robert (Janice) Miller, a daughter ; Barbara Reeder, two grandsons; Nicholas (Zaneta) Reeder, Ross Miller, and two great grandsons Patrick and Ian and one sister; Helen Bolopue of Mill Hall. He is also survived by his nieces and a nephew.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Dorothy and Elizabeth, a brother; William. Also, a son-in-law Raymond Reeder who passed away March 24, 2008.

Services for James I. Miller will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC, 320 Main St. , Mill Hall, PA. Family, and friends will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to services. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Conklin of the Mill Hall United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery
