LHU Men’s soccer lands six on All-PSAC West Team, Swope and Ogan named to First Team
LOCK HAVEN– The Lock Haven men’s soccer team landed six players on the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Team, the league office announced on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 13).
The team is nominated for and voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Senior midfielder Connor Swope and sophomore defender Danny Ogan were selected to the First Team. Sophomores Owen Lichtenwalner (Defense) and Kade Black (Forward) and freshmen Carter Rosno (Forward) and Ethan Beck (Goalkeeper) were named to the Second Team.
Swope earned his third consecutive All-PSAC honor as a member of the First Team. Swope led the team with six goals, eight assists and 20 points. He ranked sixth in the PSAC in assists and points, while ranking 10th in assists. In the victory over UPJ, the senior scored three goals and earned PSAC Athlete of the Week for his efforts.
Ogan earned his first All-Conference honor as a member of the First Team Defense. Ogan helped mold the Bald Eagles into one of the top defenses in the PSAC, which finished with six shutouts. Over a four-game span in the middle of the season, the Bald Eagles allowed just one goal and recorded three shutouts. As a defender, Ogan also found the back of the net twice and dished out a pair of assists.
Fellow sophomore and defender Lichtenwalner joined Ogan on the Bald Eagles’ backline and the duo formed one of the top defensive tandems in the league. Lichtenwalner also scored and dished out an assist, while finishing second on the team in minutes.
In his second season, Black was named a Second Team Forward after recording three goals and an assist for a total of seven points. Black recorded 11 shots on goal and two game-winning goals. In the victory over Seton Hill, Black scored and dished out an assist.
In just his first collegiate season, Rosno landed on the Second Team after finding the back of the net four times, dishing out an assist and totaling nine points. Rosno tied Swope for the team lead in shots on goal (13), while two of his goals were game winners.
Beck was named to the second team at goalkeeper after an impressive rookie campaign. After taking over the starting role following an injury, Beck earned six goalkeeping victories, while making 46 saves and notching five shutouts. The freshman earned PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week on Oct. 30.
Lock Haven finished the year with an 8-8-1 overall record and 5-5 mark in the PSAC West. The Bald Eagles were edged out for the third and final postseason spot on the last day on the regular season. Lock Haven won 6-of-7 games from late September to mid-October and spent multiple weeks at the top of the Western Division standings.
