Robert E. Banfill, Sr. – Obituary
Robert E. Banfill, Sr., 84, of Chatham Village, McElhattan, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Born in Lock Haven on May 14, 1930 he was the son of the late John and Pauline Lyons Scheid.
Bob was a 1948 graduate of Lock Haven High School.
He was married to the love of his life, the former Patricia A. McCoy for 52 years before her passing.
Bob managed the Paint Department at Piper Aircraft for more than 40 years. After their closing he was employed by Lock Haven Airplane Company until his retirement.
He had a passion for flying and airplanes as well as buying, selling, and trading cars.
Bob also enjoyed working in his workshop, especially building birdhouses.
He took great pride in taking care of his home.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas (Nancy) Banfill of Lock Haven and Robert E. (Josephine) Banfill, Jr. of York; a daughter, Judy (Doug) Moore of Lock Haven; 5 grandchildren: Sean (Amy) Banfill, Brooke (Brett) Kleckner, Ashley (Chris) Langley; Mark Banfill, and Laurel (Matt) Coxford; and three great grandchildren: Avery and Jack Banfill and Lewis Langley.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Pinelli.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
