Fire in Castanea claims one

CASTANEA TOWNSHIP – Monday afternoon’s fire at 200 East Keller Street, Lock 15 claimed the life of resident Mrs. Barbara Hummer who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clinton County Coroner Zach Hanna.
“It was determined that Mrs. Hummer died as a result of the trailer fire,” a press release from Hanna’s office stated.
As of Wednesday morning, no other details were available as to the cause of the fire.
Several fire stations were dispatched to Castanea Monday afternoon in an effort to quell the flames and preserve life.
Mill Hall Borough Police and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Investigators are still investigating. If anyone was in the area of the fire when it began, please call Mill Hall Borough Police at 570-726-4597.
