Central Mountain Boys XC Finishes Regular Season with 3 Wins, Prepares for PHAC Championships

WILLIAMSPORT-The Central Mountain boys cross country team concluded their regular season with a strong showing, picking up three more wins in a quad meet. The Wildcats secured victories over Selinsgrove (26-29), Shikellamy (22-39), and Jersey Shore (23-36), but fell to host Williamsport (36-23).

The Wildcats finished the regular season with an impressive 15-4 record, a significant improvement from last year’s 9-12 mark. With the regular season behind them, the team is now turning their attention to the postseason, with the PHAC Championships scheduled for this Saturday at Shikellamy, followed by the District 6 Championships on October 26.

Leading the way for Central Mountain was Damien Winner, clocking in at 17:56.31. Other standout performances came from Sam Wible (18:15.48), Riley Gonzales (19:23.00), Xian Deems (19:53.10), and Shane Walker (19:54.93), all contributing to the team’s successful day.

Additional finishes for the Wildcats included Latrell Walker (20:13.13), Shayden Hill (20:20.28), Jaxon Hardy (21:07.84), and Cody Etters (21:12.71), along with solid performances by Cody Cardinal (22:35.46), Brayden Bird (22:55.80), Myles Winslow (23:13.14), Cory Matejovich (24:18.20), Liam Darwin (25:00.77), and Rhys Swift (25:42.52).

With a strong regular season behind them, the Wildcats are poised to compete in the postseason with confidence and determination. The PHAC Championships this Saturday will serve as the next challenge in their successful campaign.
