Renovo Elementary/Middle-High School Students Gather for Global Prayer Event ‘See You at the Pole’

FARWELL -On September 25, 2024, a prayerful gathering took place at the flagpole of Renovo Elementary School, part of the Bucktail Campus in Renovo. Students, teachers, parents, and community members came together for the global event “See You at the Pole,” where they offered prayers for their school, teachers, coaches, friends, and staff.

“See You at the Pole” (SYATP) is a worldwide day of student prayer that began in 1990 as a grassroots movement when ten students prayed at their school. Decades later, millions of students gather on the fourth Wednesday in September to pray on their campuses.

This event serves as a prayer rally, where students meet at the flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, and the nation to God. SYATP is entirely student-initiated, organized, and led.

One kindergartner at Renovo Elementary, Andrew Kramer, expressed his thoughts in a heartfelt prayer: “Dear God, I pray for Brody, Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Stimpson, my classmates, and all the teachers. I love school.” Similar prayers were voiced by students throughout the event. The See You at the Pole website features testimonials and photos of students from across America participating in this mission, highlighting its global reach. In Philadelphia, a high school student prayed for academics, an end to school violence, and for more courageous followers of Christ in their community. Events like “See You at the Pole” not only instill hope for a brighter future in younger generations but also develop a sense of community among students.

In addition to SYATP, joint Initiatives like Adopt-a-School and Claim Your Campus share a similar mission, encouraging students to take action for their schools and peers. Often, children are not heard or taken seriously, and leadership opportunities can be limited. These programs empower students to express their voices and lead with confidence. “See You at the Pole” allows them to act in a meaningful way.

The Renovo community is encouraged to mark their calendars for the fourth Wednesday in September 2025, to join the students of Renovo Elementary and Bucktail High School in praying for their schools and participating in this inspiring mission of hope.
