Outdoor Show Fast Approaching
CROSS FORK – The Kettle Creek Valley Outdoor Show is fast approaching. The show, held Saturday, March 28 at the fire hall in Cross Fork, is a welcome break for those outdoor enthusiasts in the grip of cabin fever. Over 30 vendors and organizations will have exhibits or tables. Doors open at 9:00 am and the show wraps up between 3 and 4 pm. The entrance fee for the show is $3.00. Kids 12 and under are free. Food is available on site and door prizes will be given away all day. All proceeds from the show benefit the Kettle Creek Hose Company and the Kettle Creek Ambulance Association.
The nationally sanctioned turkey calling contest that is part of the activities that day, as registration beginning at 9:00 am, with the calling beginning at 11:00am. Categories include open, amateur, friction and youth. Cost is $25, which includes entrance to the show. For more information on the calling contest, call 570-923-2386.
A photography contest with a focus on Potter and Clinton Counties will also be on display. Show visitors can cast their quarter votes for their favorite photos. For details on entering a photo, contact Jo Hoy at 570-923-1043. Photographers of all ages and experience levels welcomed!
Many organizations will be present, including Cross Fork Sportsman, Kettle Creek Tamarack Sportsman, Kettle Creek Watershed Association, Kettle Creek Hose Company, Kettle Creek Ambulance Association, PA Bureaus of State Parks and Forestry, Susquehannock Trail Club, PA Game Commission, Potter County Visitor’s Association, Central Mountains ATV Association, Western Clinton County Recreation Association,
Susquehannock Trail Club and a geocaching group. There will be historical displays that show some of the area’s past history, including a display on the CCC. A partial list participating vendors includes Top Calls, Cutting Edge Laser Engraving, Frye’s Flies, Smoker’s Decoys, Wishin to be Fishing charters. There will be a fly tier set up as well as folks selling handmade items and outdoor related re-sale items. Some local artists will also be displaying and selling their handiworks.
