Bucktail High Senior Lily Sporny Breaks Fundraising Record with $5,200 Bingo Event for Flaming Foliage Festival
RENOVO – Lily Sporny, a senior at Bucktail High School, made a significant impact with her senior project by organizing a fundraiser for the Flaming Foliage Festival (FFF). The event, a night of bingo hosted at St. Joseph’s Church basement, raised an impressive $5,200, marking a record-breaking achievement for the organization.
Lily’s efforts were comprehensive, from gathering donations and promoting the event to setting up the venue and hosting the evening. The FFF Committee expressed their deep appreciation for her tireless work, deeming the event so successful that they plan to make it a regular occurrence a couple of times each year.
The event also saw Lily’s family getting involved, with her younger sister Lenox helping to sell baked goods to the bingo players. Additionally, fellow Bucktail senior Martin Lewis assisted by checking winning bingo cards, ensuring the event ran smoothly.
Lily was joined by Dan Heiser and Kedda Bissman in calling out bingo numbers and verifying winning cards, demonstrating strong teamwork. FFF member Martha Sykes also supported Lily, helping to check on bingo cards during the event. This project not only showcased Lily’s dedication but also brought the community together for a cause that will benefit the FFF in the years to come.
