Obituary – Virginia (Ginny) Mae Frye

Virginia (Ginny) Mae Frye, 83, of Mill Hall, PA, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 in the Highlands Aspire Nursing facility.

Ginny was born January 9, 1941 in Lock Haven, PA. She was the daughter of the late J. Hogan and Elizabeth Karstetter Stevenson. She went to high school at Bald Eagle Nittany High School and graduated in 1958 and attended Lock Haven Teacher’s College. On June 3, 1960 Ginny married the love of her life, Gail Frye, who preceded her death in 2021. She worked as a bank teller in Mill Hall over her lifetime and retired as a head teller from First National Bank in Lock Haven. Ginny enjoyed cooking/canning, bicycle riding, and spending time with her family. She volunteered her time with the Meals on Wheels program and attended the Mill Hall United Methodist Church.

Ginny is survived by two Daughters: Tammy (Bruce) Wetterau, Chestertown, MD and Beth (Jack, Jr.) Bechdel, Sinking Spring, PA., three  Granddaughters: Alycia Vansant, Alexandra (fiancé Corey Freeman) Vansant and Erica (Kyle) O’Neill one Grandson: Adam (Erika) Bechdel Four Great-Granddaughters:  Addison and Scarlett Bechdel, Penelope O’Neill, and Elsie Freeman, two sisters: Shirley Boutte and Delores Yearick, both of Huntsville, AL

Funeral service  for Virginia Frye will be held  on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 11:00 am in Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 320 Main St., Mill Hall PA  with Pastor Richard Conklin of the Mill Hall United Methodist Church officiating. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Burial will be in  in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall, PA.

Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to the Mill Hall United Methodist Church, 212 S. Water St., Mill Hall, PA 17751.
