Obituary – Harvey L. Miller
Harvey L. Miller, 82, of Castanea passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.
Born January 30, 1942 in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Glenn J. and Mary Ellen (Dugan) Miller.
Harvey was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School as well as the former Williamsport Area Community College where he studied Aviation Mechanics.
On November 22, 1961 at East Main Street United Methodist Church, he married his love, the former Penelope “Penny” Glenn. He was 19 and she, 16. Together, they shared 62 years of marriage, remaining head-over-heels in love.
Harvey was employed as a foreman at Hammermill Paper Co. for 39 years. His love for his job was greatly impart to his co-workers.
He was a member of Garman Lutheran Church, Jersey Shore.
Harvey loved his family. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved including his family in these activities- making for many great times. Harvey also enjoyed taking rides with Penny, driving through the mountains looking for deer and mountain laurel, but mostly just spending time together.
In addition to his wife, Penny Miller of Castanea, he is survived by his children: Welsey (Brenda) Miller of Lock Haven, Wendy (Kevin) Barner of Loganton and Roxanne (Earl) Embick of McElhattan; a brother, Gerald (Deborah) Miller of Avis; a sister, Joann Temons of Jersey Shore; a sister-in-law, Nancy Miller of Avis; seven grandchildren: Ashley (Blair) Strouse, Joshua (Tarin) Miller, Robert Miller (Kate), John Miller (Tabitha), Melinda (Mike) Regester, Phillip (Tasha) Embick and Brigette Barner (Jake); and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Miller and sisters, Irene Vairo and Shirley Berry.
Services will be at the convenience of his family.
