The Station Gallery has announced they are doing three segments for a Journaling workshop series for adults, starting this coming weekend, June 15. As Journaling has become more useful in our daily lives, the Station Gallery has decided to enhance your sketching, writing, cartooning, or daily diary with some fun techniques connected to the practice.  A way to relax, regroup and rethink your own plans, memories or ideas – the idea of journaling is something anyone can do – and we hope to get you started or add to what you do now.

The first one is taught by Jackie Thomas, and will include simple techniques anyone can do, with ALL supplies provided!  We will work with mixed media on paper, and then do a folding technique to create our own ZINE.  Perfect for those of us who write poetry, want to develop a character for a small cartoon story, jot down a memorable event or even create a super-special greeting card for friends and family.

Always fun and great company at the Station Gallery, the workshop series will run from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Again, this series requires no previous experience, but will be fun for all levels to try.
We bring our own bag lunch, or you can pop out into Downtown Lock Haven to enjoy our many create lunch spots in town!  Cost is $20 for members of the Clinton County Arts Council, and $25 for non-members.  (Feel free to join that day and become part of the arts!)

Day 1 – June 15 / ZINE workshop
Instructor Jackie Thomas (as described above)

Day 2 – June 22 / BOOKCOVER workshop
Instructor Carol Cillo
This event will have us use found objects and shapes to do a simple “block print” onto a piece of fabric which will then be turned into a book cover for your favorite book or journal.  No experience necessary!  Materials will be provided.

Day 3 – July 6 / PHOTO EXPLORATION workshop
Instructor Bruce Wallace
As Rod Stewart sang, “Every Picture Tells a Story,” and we all know that a picture is worth a thousand words. Come and learn some easy ways to use photography as a mean of self-exploration and enhance your well-being. Words optional! No experience necessary!
