Central Mountain baseball and softball playoff information released

MILL HALL- PIAA District 6 has released their 2024 spring sports playoff schedule for this upcoming week. Central Mountain’s baseball and softball teams will both be in action.

The CM Wildcats baseball team will be up first on Monday at Bald Eagle Area High School where they will meet Hollidaysburg in the District 6 5A title game at 4pm. The Wildcats boast a 13-5 record and are the top seed. The Golden Tigers enter the title game with a 12-5 record with one more regular season contest remaining, a road trip to Clearfield.

Last season the Wildcats downed Hollidaysburg 10-5 to claim the D6 5A crown. Central Mountain would then go on to defeat Dubois before falling to Penn Trafford in the PIAA 5A playoffs.

The winner of this game will meet the District 8/9 subregional winner.

The 12-5 Central Mountain Lady Wildcats will also be competing for a District 6 5A title when they square off against Hollidaysburg on Wednesday. That game is set for a 4pm start and the site location will also be Bald Eagle Area High School. Hollidaysburg, who dropped last season’s District 6 title game to the Lady Wildcats by a 7-1 score will enter Wednesday contest with a 10-10 record.
