Lady Bucks keep rolling with sweep of Oswayo Valley

Shinglehouse- The Bucktail Lady Bucks kept rolling on Tuesday and used their momentum from Monday’s victory over Jersey Shore to sweep a doubleheader at Oswayo Valley 13-3 and 10-0.
The Lady Green Wave entered the pair of contests with 10 wins and are one of the contenders in the upcoming District 9 1A playoffs.
Bucktail jumped out to a 2-0 lead and would never look back in game 1.
Bucktail’s lead grew to 10-0 following an 8 run effort in the second inning. Oswayo Valley would battle back with three runs of their own in the second inning.
Bucktail would finish out their scoring with a single run in the third inning and then a pair of runs in the fifth inning to set the 13-3 final score.
Bucktail pounded out 13 hits, led by Eva Sockman’s three-hit game, which included a home run. Mak Wagner collected two hits, as did Alexis Lowery. Both of Lowery’s hits were doubles. Riley Salizzoni, Lola English and Kendall Wagner also added hits for Bucktail.
Bucktail would take the second game by a 10-0 count.
The Lady Bucks would score two runs in their half of the first and tacked on 4 more runs in the second inning to build a 6-0 lead. A four run fourth inning would put the game into the mercy rule at 10-0 at the end of five innings.
Lola English and Mak Wagner led the Lady Bucks with two hits each. Makenna Stone, Matti Mason and Kendall Wagner also added hits for Bucktail, with Kendall’s being a double.
Bucktail, now 15-4 has all but locked up the top spot in the upcoming District 4 1A playoffs and will close out their regular season Wednesday night against Millville, with weather permitting.
