Moyer downs Lady Bucks in 13-0 Muncy win
By Bees O’Brien
FARWELL- For the second time this season, Muncy star pitcher Nolah Moyer silenced the Bucktail bats as Muncy pounded out 9 hits to down the Lady Bucks in 5 innings.
Moyer’s 12 strike outs and her bat proved to be too much for Bucktail’s quest for a Mid Penn title. Moyer would launch a first inning home run that would give the Lady Indians an early 3-0 lead.
The second inning, catcher Taylor Shannon would help expand Muncy’s lead to 8-0 following her first of two home run blasts on the day. Shannon’s second long ball would come in the top of the fourth inning to expand the visitor’s lead to 12-0 following a 4-run fourth inning.
Muncy would add another run in their half of the fifth inning to set the 13-0 final score.
Gigi Balchun would be the only Lady Buck to collect a base hit with her fifth inning single to right field.
Lola English reached base on an error earlier in the game and Eva Sockman’s walk would be the only Bucktail hitters to reach base.
The Muncy win gave the Lady Indians their second straight Mid Penn Conference championship.
Bucktail, now 12-4 will next be in action on Monday when they meet District IV 4A’s top team in Jersey Shore (12-4) in Farwell for a 4:30 start time.
