Richard Lee Cook – Obituary
He was born Oct. 5, 1942 in Renovo, son of the late Catherine Cook Page. He was a graduate of the Bucktail High School Class of 1960 and lived in the Kersey area since 1989.
He was married to Erika Wilkinson, she survives. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Clare Grunthaner.
He had worked at the Philadelphia and Virginia Naval Shipyards, served as police chief of Chapman Township and was a retired employee of the Department of Public Welfare.
He served in the U.S. Air Force Police during the Vietnam era, was an avid hunter and fisherman, was involved in the Cub Scouts in his early years and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by a daughter, Catherine Shuttleworth (Joe) of Kersey; three sons, Markus Cook of New Jersey, Thomas Cook of New Jersey and Robert Cook (Janell) of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six sisters, Dottie Stoltz (Ron) of Renovo, Barb Lullo of Renovo, Shirley Young (Ken) of Kittanning, Laura Snyder (Jack) of Salona, Judy Long (Leon) of Lock Haven and Doris Williams (Steve) of Lock Haven; and two brothers, Harry Page of Renovo and Luther Page (Brenda) of Lock Haven.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George Page, and a sister in infancy, Yvonne.
Family and friends of Richard Lee Cook were invited to attend a memorial service to be held ion Wednesday, March 4 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ross Miceli officiating. Full military rites were accorded by the Fox Township Servicemen’s Burial Detail.
