Lady Rangers too much for Sugar Valley softball
By Bees O’Brien
SHICKSHINNY- Northwest continued their hot start at home against Sugar Valley Rural Charter on Tuesday afternoon. The undefeated Lady Rangers wasted little time in dispatching the visiting Lady Phoenix to remain a perfect 5-0.
Northwest jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning and then expanded that lead to 11-0 following an 8-run second inning. The Lady Rangers would add three more runs in the next inning and hold on for the 14-0 victory in five innings.
Cheyenne Weaver, Brynn Swanger and Olivia Clester accounted for the only three Sugar Valley hits.
SVRC (1-5, 0-5) will next be in action on Wednesday as they are set to host East Juniata. Northwest will next face Nolah Moyer and Muncy in what should be a solid test for the Lady Rangers.
