SUNBURY- Three weeks into the 2024 season and Central Mountain’s Lady Wildcats finally would get a chance to get their season underway.

Head coach Fred Caldwell’s squad showed no signs of struggle against the Braves by pounding out 10 hits and picking up the 8-0 shutout on the road.

Adalynn McKeague was spot on in the circle. McKeague would fan 5 Braves and allow just two hits in 4 innings of work. Freshman Camdyn Weaver would allow just two hits, while striking out two batters in three innings of relief.

Madison Hardy would power the Lady Wildcats at the plate by smoking a home run and collecting a pair of singles. Taylor Wahlers and Cirstyn Watson each collected a pair of hits for the Lady Wildcats, who scored the bulk of their runs in a 7-run burst in the second and third innings before adding an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning.

Katelyn Bowman, Harley Kunes and Cora Myers rounded out the base hits for Central Mountain.

Now 1-0, CM will next be in action on Wednesday when they host Danville and again on Friday against hard hitting NTL opponents Troy.
