Montgomery tops Sugar Valley baseball 15-0 in 3 innings

MONTGOMERY- Sugar Valley Rural Charter opened their Mid Penn Conference slate on Tuesday with a trip to Montgomery.
The host Red Raiders wasted very little time in quickly dispatching the Phoenix. Montgomery would cross three runs in the first inning and erupt for an 8-run second inning.
Montgomery’s Parker Persing would hold the Phoenix to just 2 hits in three innings of work, while fanning 6 batters.
The Red Raiders crossed four runs in the bottom of the third inning to end the game by the 15-run rule at 15-0.
Lance Winchester continued his hot start for Sugar Valley with a single. Laydon Bryan would have the other Phoenix hit.
Now 0-2, SVRC will hit the road Thursday in another Mid Penn matchup when they square off with Millville.
