LHU Men’s Wrestling turns in strong showing at George Mason Last Chance

FAIRFAX, VA – Several members of the Lock Haven men’s wrestling team competed today (Sunday, Feb. 25) at the Patriot Last Chance Open, hosted by George Mason.

Leading the way for Lock Haven was Gable Strickland (Benton, Pa./Benton), Conner Heckman (Liverpool, Pa./Midd-West) and Lucas Kapusta (Jeanette, Pa./Hempfield Area) as each won their respective round-robin bracket.

Strickland, nationally-ranked at 133, was 3-0 with two pins.

Heckman (141) picked up a pair of wins and Kapusta (149) was 3-0 with two pins.

For Lock Haven, the focus is now the postseason. The 2023-24 Mid-American Conference Championships are set for Friday and Saturday, March 8-9 at Kent State University.
