Phoenix Wrestlers down Loyalsock 33-24
LOGANTON – The Sugar Valley Rural Charter School wrestling team got back into action Wednesday night, taking on visiting Loyalsock. The Phoenix came out on top, winning the dual-meet 33-24.
The action for the night started at 139, with Wyatt Conoway picking up a forfeit for Sugar Valley. Phoenix Cameron Quick secured a 7-2 decision over Loyalsock’s Kayden Keefer at 145. At 152, Sugar Valley’s Connor Ohl received a forfeit, making the score 15-0 for Sugar Valley.
Braden Vincenzes got things going for Loyalsock with a fall over Phoenix Ethan Bartenope. No bout would be wrestled at 172. Kayden Rodarmel at 189 and Ethan French both got falls for Loyalsock, giving the Lancers an 18-15 lead.
Loyalsock forfeited at 285 and 107, giving Sugar Valley a 27-18 lead. Sugar Valley forfeited at 114. No bouts were wrestled at 121 or 127. Jarren McCloskey finished up the night with a fall over Loyalsock’s Conner Phillips, setting the final score at Sugar Valley 33, Loyalsock 24.
Up next, Sugar Valley Varsity will hit the road and go to Columbia Montour Vo-Tech on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. start.”
