No. 20 LHU Men’s Wrestling caps Davidson Duals with victory over Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The nationally-ranked Lock Haven men’s wrestling team picked up another win Friday against host Davidson to wrap up a successful two days at the Davidson Duals.

The No. 20 Bald Eagles made quick work of Davidson, downing the host school, 31-11, in their final match of the week. Lock Haven fell to Little Rock, 40-11, in the morning.

Yesterday (Thursday, Jan. 11), Lock Haven dominated both its matches, downing Gardner-Webb, 30-14, before knocking off Harvard, 20-14. The victory against Gardner-Webb marked the 75th career team victory for head coach Scott Moore.

The Bald Eagles return to Lock Haven with a 3-6 dual record, after picking up three victories over the weekend.

No. 13 Wyatt Henson (Waynesburg, Pa./Waynesburg) (141) and J.T. Hogan (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) (157) led the way for The Haven as they each finished 2-0 on the day, while also improving to 4-0 on the week.

Gable Strickland (Benton, Pa./Benton) earned a major decision victory against Davidson, improving to 3-1 on the weekend.

No. 1 Anthony Noto (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) picked up a forfeit victory against Davidson at 125.

Nick Stonecheck (Alpharetta, Ga./Buford) (149), Connor Eck (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem) (157) and Colin Fegley (Mahanoy, Pa./Mahanoy) (184) rounded out the group of winners for The Haven against Davison, led by a major decision from Fegley.

Lock Haven will return home to host Buffalo in MAC action on Friday, Jan. 19. The match is set for 7 p.m. in Thomas Fieldhouse and is the first of four duals at home during the second half of the season.

Next week’s match vs. Buffalo on Jan. 19 marks the dedication ceremony for the Ron & Jo Ann Bowes Wrestling Room. The Bald Eagles will also host a pre-match social, it’s Veterans Night with free admission for all veterans, and it is Youth Night.
