Obituary – Jeannette (Johnson) DeHayes
Jeannette (Johnson) DeHayes, 88, of Port Charlotte, FL, died on October 6, 2023. She was born on August 11, 1935, in Renovo, PA to Gerald G. and Mary (Fehley) Johnson. The Johnson family lived at 142 Fifth Street, Renovo, from about 1880 until 1956.
She graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Renovo in 1953. She graduated from Georgetown Visitation in Washington, DC, and journeyed through employments in government, four hospitals, and a manufacturing company while living in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas, Oklahoma, and Georgia.
She married Lou DeHayes in southern California and after a few years they moved to Savannah, GA, where he later retired. They moved to the Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte, FL, area in 1986, where they enjoyed golf and various volunteering activities for many years.
She is survived by stepson Louis J. (Sharon) DeHayes, Jr. of Cave Creek, AZ; brother Gerald G. (Marge) Johnson, Jr. of State College, PA; three granddaughters, Catherine (Mark) Holmes, Elizabeth (Todd Knight) DeHayes, Christine Nelson (Yan) Pribadi; two great-granddaughters, Olivia, and Victoria Holmes, one great-grandson, Louie Pribadi; a nephew, James W. Johnson; and niece Karen L. Johnson (Chris) Nichols, and their children Alexander and Samantha Nichols.
She was preceded in death by husbands Kenneth E. Shaw and Louis J. DeHayes and stepdaughter Lynn Ann DeHayes Nelson.
