Wildcats Rout Golden Tigers 66-6
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Central Mountain Wildcats made sure there was no Tuesday night letdown coming off a heartbreaking loss in the District 6 team dual championship last Saturday.
Coach Doug Buckwalter’s team piled up seven pins to go along with two forfeits, a technical fall and a major to run away from Mike Moore’s Hollidaysburg team, the final 66-6.
The win put Central Mountain at 13-1 and (with no trip to the PIAA team duals this weekend) a week in the practice room to prep for next Tuesday’s regular season last match, a Senior Night home contest with 18-1 Jersey Shore.
In a dual that started at 195 pounds, Loc Long and Hunter Weaver led off with first period pins, followed by a 1-0 overtime win from Bryce Hanley over Golden Tiger heavyweight Hunter Gill.
Geo Barzona added a fall, Seth Andrus a forfeit and Keanen Bottorf a major before Hollidaysburg would pick up its only two bout wins of the night, their Darren Bowser by a 9-3 win over Draven King and, at 132 pounds, a Dalton Long 3-0 win over the Wildcats’ Colton Weaver.
Central Mountain would finish with a second period fall from Emery Watson, a first period pin from Tanner Weaver, a technical fall from Demetri Probst, another first period pin from Caleb Turner, a forfeit for Gavin Caprio and a first period deck job from Isaac Porter.
