Guilty Verdict in DUI Aggravated Assault Case on Coudersport Pike

LOCK HAVEN – It took just over thirty minutes Thursday for a Clinton County jury to return verdicts of guilty against Donald Wayne Bowman, 46, of Lock Haven. Bowman was convicted on two counts of aggravated assault while driving under the influence and two counts of aggravated assault by motor vehicle.

The case was prosecuted by Clinton County First Assistant District Attorney Michael Angelelli, and Patrick Johnson was counsel for Bowman.

Witnesses testified that on the night of December 23, 2016, Bowman left his lane of travel on Route 664 near the Caldwell church in Clinton County and crashed head-on into a vehicle occupied by two women and a four year old child.  The women sustained serious injuries, one of them critically injured.  Evidence was presented that Bowman appeared highly intoxicated after the crash and admitted to drinking at least five beers earlier in the evening.  The jury was also told that Bowman’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.15 percent at the time of the crash.

Bowman is scheduled for sentencing on December 6. He faces a maximum sentence of 34 years in prison.
