Clinton County Government Earns Governor’s Employer Award

LOCK HAVEN – Clinton County Government has been presented the Governor’s Employer Award for Central Pennsylvania. The presentation was made by Gov. Tom Wolf Wednesday in Hershey at the annual Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association convention.

The county commissioners celebrated the designation, the first for a state governmental entity they said, at the conclusion of their meeting on Thursday, recognizing the multiple county agencies and departments that played a role in securing the recognition.

Specifically the county was recognized for “being a supporter of and participating in workforce and economic development in central Pennsylvania.

The award program said Clinton County “demonstrates exemplary support of workforce development through its engagement and partnership with PA CareeLink Clinton County.” County government was lauded for taking “a holistic approach to improving the lives of its citizens by hosting workshops and partnering with employers on addressing addiction in the workplace, identifying employment options for community citizens on probation, providing free-of-charge professional clothing options for individuals in need, participating with Keystone Cares that support and improve lives of children and families.

The award proclamation also noted the county’s close work with Lock Haven University and other schools. The Central Pennsylvania Workforce Development Corporation nominated Clinton County Government, commending it for “its approach to a seamless delivery of services to ensure that Clinton County continues to grow and prosper.”
