Central Mountain Marching Band: a night at the races
LAMAR TOWNSHIP, PA – The Central Mountain Marching Band made its second appearance of the new marching season with a presentation of the National Anthem at the Clinton County Speedway Friday night. The Marching Wildcats were invited and accepted the invitation, a first for the band to perform at the races; hopefully of many to come and was an exciting event for band members to watch.
The band kicked off the season, marching on Monday of this week in Williamsport at Little League’s Grand Slam Parade. Next up is a trip to Lewistown on Friday, Aug. 25 for the Wildcat football team’s season opener at Mifflin County.
This year’s show is music from SpongeBob SquarePants and is sure to be a crowd-pleaser at marching band competitions and football games this fall.
The band spent an intense week at band camp in July, learning music, drill, and routine for six songs–a huge number of pieces for a field show. Directors said it was with great success: for the fourth year in a row, the band learned the entire show by Thursday, this time before lunch.
Featured songs are SpongeBob SquarePants Theme, Ripped Pants, Campfire Song Song, Sweet Victory, Best Day Ever, and F.U.N. The students recently had their annual band camp performance for parents and all went well.
