Pa’s unemployment rate was 4.1% in April

HARRISBURG, PA – Pennsylvania’s unemployment was 4.1% in April, matching the lowest rate recorded back in 1976, according to state data released on Friday.

The April unemployment rate is down one-tenth of a percentage point from the March rate of 4.2%, according to the Department of Labor and Industry.

The commonwealth’s April 2023 unemployment rate is two-tenths of a percent lower than its April 2022 rate of 4.3%, state data shows.

Nationally, the unemployment rate was 3.4% in April, down from 3.5% in March.

In Pennsylvania, non-farm jobs were up 11,000 over the month to a record high of 6,117,100 in April.

The most recently reported unemployment rate for Clinton County was in March when the figure was 4.4%.
