BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP,PA – State police are asking for public assistance in tracking down the operator of a vehicle which collided with an Amish buggy Friday evening on Route 150 in Bald Eagle Township. Relay for the assistance request was posted online Saturday by Clinton County District Attorney Dave Strouse:

HIT AND RUN. PSP Lamar seeking information from the public! Please contact with any information.

On 05/05/2023 at approximately 2017 hours, a hit and run crash occurred on Eagle Valley Rd in the area of Macintyre Ln, Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County, PA. The investigation determined that the striking vehicle was traveling westbound and passed two vehicles in a very short passing zone on Eagle Valley Rd just after Laurel Run Rd. The vehicle then maneuvered back into the right lane of travel and subsequently struck a horse and buggy that was also traveling west on Eagle Valley Rd, badly disabling the buggy, and forcing it off the right side of the roadway into an embankment. There were two adults and two young children in the buggy at the time of this incident.

The striking vehicle immediately fled the scene traveling west on Eagle Valley Rd., making no attempts to stop and render aid or provide information. The striking vehicle is described as a Maroon/Burgundy in color Chevrolet Silverado (possibly a 2014-2019) 4 door quad-cab, chrome grill and front bumper, dark in color wheels and larger than stock tires, possibly lifted, and a toolbox in the front portion of the bed. The vehicle should have damage to the passenger side front and possibly passenger side. Witnesses report there being multiple occupants in the striking vehicle when it passed them.

Anyone with any information relating to this incident please contact Trooper Matthew Rounsley at PSP Lamar, 570-726-6000.

There was no immediate word as to injuries on the part of those in the buggy or the horse. The District Attorney said he had no additional information as of Saturday evening.
