Entrapment and minor injuries in Saturday rollover accident on Shirk Hollow Road

WOODWARD TOWNSHIP, PA – Township police say a husband and wife escaped serious injury when the pickup truck he was driving left Shirk Hollow Road and rolled over on Saturday afternoon. Police did not release the identities or addresses of the couple.

The police report said the truck was approaching the Shirk Hollow Road intersection with the Coudersport Pike when it left the roadway, and overturned onto its driver’s side.

The occupants were trapped inside, and Dunnstown firemen and Lock Haven EMS personnel removed the windshield and pulled the driver and his wife out. Police said both suffered minor injuries and were transferred to UPMC Williamsport for treatment/observation.

The 70-year-old driver told police he had “blacked out” and had no recollection of the accident.

Woodward police said their investigation showed there was no breaking action prior to the rollover and the truck traveled 45 along the embankment before rolling over.
