Obituary
Clair N. Seyler, 99, of Mill Hall passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital . He was born August 17, 1923 in Mill Hall the son of the late Grover and Ethel (Masden) Seyler.
Clair was an employee of the Hammermill Paper Company, retiring in 1988 after 42 years. He was proud to be operator of the #3 rewinder. He served as a deacon of the Mill Hall Church of Christ and kept scriptures in his wallet. A World War II Veteran, Army Brigade. American Theater, Ribbon, PFC, 9307 Technical Service Unit.
Clair enjoyed the simple country lifestyle, gardening, making wooden crafts, listening to Country Music. Roy Acuff and Hank Williams were his favorites. He enjoyed spending time tinkering in his shop.
Surviving is his wife Pearl L. (Sweeley), they were married on May 26, 1943 in the Methodist Church in Lock Haven and marriage was two months shy of 80 year Anniversary. He is also survived by a daughter, Shelby J. (Gary) Confer and three sons; Richard A. (Lois) Seyler, David B. (Susan) Seyler, Andrew C. (Karen) Seyler, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and a sister Marcia Weaver of Mill Hall.
His death was preceded by five sisters, Helen, Geraldine, Betty, Marian and Shirley, and his brother, Richard.
Funeral Services with full military honors for Clair N. Seyler will be held Tuesday April 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the (Yost) Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven, PA. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to the services. Officiating will be Retired Pastor James H. Redmond.
Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Clair’s name to Disabled American Veterans or the charity of your choice.
