Pine Creek Township police charge township woman with another case of fraudulent activity
PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP, PA – The Pine Creek Township police department on Thursday arrested Kathy M. Lachat, 60, of Manor Village Avenue, Pine Creek Township on charges following an investigation involving fraudulent activity against a 58-year-old male township resident, the third such case involving the accused.
Police said Lachat has been charged with: 1,166 counts of identity theft, one count of forgery one count of access device fraud, two counts of receiving stolen property and multiple related charges.
Police said the investigation began after the victim started reviewing his financial records after finding out Lachat was charged with committing similar crimes against others she knew. The victim only had financial records going back to 2016. During the investigation, it is alleged, police confirmed Lachat was committing these crimes from at least 2016, however the charges only represent incidents from 2020 to 2023.
Lachat was already incarcerated in the Clinton County Correctional Facility on similar charges filed in February. Lachat is also being detained on a probation detainer. Lachat was arraigned by District Judge Kieth Kibler and bail was set at $5,000. Lachat remains incarcerated in the Clinton County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Monday for all three cases.
