New five-year teacher contract announced in Keystone Central

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Keystone Central School District and its teachers union have a new five-year contract.

The school board gave its unanimous approval to the pact at its voting session Thursday night. The membership of the Association of Clinton County Educators had approved the new contract at a meeting after school on Thursday.

On Friday the district circulated an updated, joint news release on the 41-page agreement, basically unchanged from the Thursday night release:

JOINT PRESS RELEASE RE: RATIFICATION OF CONTRACT BETWEEN ASSOCIATION OF CLINTON COUNTY EDUCATORS AND KEYSTONE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

Mill Hall, PA (March 10, 2023) – The board of directors of the Keystone Central School District and the members of the Association of Clinton County Educators voted to ratify a new 5-year collective bargaining agreement. Both the Association and District voted to accept the deal on March 9, 2023.

The successor agreement is retroactive to the expiration of the prior contract on June 30, 2022 and continues through June 30, 2027.

The contract includes an average on-scale salary increase of 1.53 percent. The same increase applies to both extracurricular and athletic salaries. Employees have also agreed to an annual increase in healthcare contributions. The parties agreed to a revised procedure for filling vacancies internally.

The formal negotiations process began in January 2022. Both the District and Association feel that this new Agreement is fair to the employees and is sustainable for the District.
