New five-year teacher contract announced in Keystone Central
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – The Keystone Central School District and its teachers union have a new five-year contract.
The school board gave its unanimous approval to the pact at its voting session Thursday night. The membership of the Association of Clinton County Educators had approved the new contract at a meeting after school on Thursday.
After the board meeting, the district released a brief statement from the two sides:
The Keystone Central School District and the Association of Clinton County Educators have voted and accepted a new 5-year contract agreement. This new Agreement is retroactive for the 2022-2023 school year and continues through June 30, 2027.
The new Agreement includes on-scale salary increases that average 1.53% which would also include both extracurricular and athletic salaries. New and existing employees would see an annual increase in healthcare costs. Both parties agreed to a new process for filling vacancies.
During the negotiations process, there were numerous and lengthy discussions. In the end, both the District and Association feel that this new Agreement is fair to the employees and is sustainable for the District.
New contract information was included among agenda items for the school board meeting. It says the contract covers the school years 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26 and 2026-27.
There was no comment on the new agreement at the school board meeting, other than Superintendent Jacquelyn Martin noting the teacher approval and stating there would be a release after the board meeting.
