Local high school gymnasts compete at the PA Classic.
MOON TOWNSHIP, PA – Lock Haven Branch YMCA Gymnasts participated in the PA Classic for their respective schools this past weekend.
Central Mountain freshman Dee Hefferon qualified in the Bronze Division, and placed third on floor (8.2), fourth on beam (8.15), and fifth in all around (30.95). Emily Everett from Central Mountain competed in Bronze on floor and placed eighth (7.95) Samantha Streator competed vault, beam and floor in the Silver Division and had a best of 25th on beam (7.7). Sugar Valley’s Junior Mia Sycz qualified in Silver vault, beam, and floor and had a day’s best of 36th on vault (8.425).
Also, over the weekend, the local Middle and Elementary school gymnasts competed at the Melanie Breitenstein Invitational. Central Mountain Middle School gymnast Harper Conklin placed ninth on beam (8.225), Summer Biggans had a day’s best of 8.2 on floor, Ashlynn Confer stuck her beam routine for a 7.05. Woodward Elementary gymnast Emilia Grieco had a day’s best of 7.175 on floor, and Brennah McKinney of Robb Elementary had a day and season’s best of 6.95 on floor.
The YMCA Gymnastics Team competes this Saturday at the A.M.G.L Championships at Garver Memorial YMCA to end their season with the new season starting on March 6.
