Reese and Edwards announce team run for Pine Creek Township Supervisors

LOCK HAVEN, PA – Pine Creek Township Supervisors John Reese and Dean Edwards, Jr., have announced they are seeking the Republican nomination for Pine Creek Township Supervisor as a team in the May 2023 primary election.

Reese was appointed to the Pine Creek Township Board of Supervisors in June 2018 to complete the term of the late Jim Moore. Edwards was appointed to fill the term of the late Tom Wilt, beginning his duties as supervisor in January 2022. Both have served as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, with Edwards currently serving as chairman.

“We are seeking election to use our leadership, management and communication skills, and our work experience to continue to serve the citizens of Pine Creek Township I and II.

We will continue to ensure that their concerns are heard, openly addressed, and resolved. We both are dedicated and responsible, have a strong work ethic, and will work to the best of our abilities to conduct all township business fairly and honestly,” said Reese and Edwards.

Reese has been a full-time employee of Pine Creek Township for twenty-four years, working to maintain roads and remove snow. He served on the Township Planning Commission for ten years and as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for two years.

“My twenty-four years of on-the-job work experience with the township and being a supervisor have given me great opportunities to use my work, communication and leadership skills to serve the people of Pine Creek Township. During my years with Pine Creek Township in managing building and equipment maintenance, we have been able to save the Township considerable dollars in outside maintenance costs. I have a very good relationship with township residents, am always available to listen to their concerns and suggestions and have worked hard to resolve any issues fairly and quickly. I always have the best interests of the citizens of the township in mind when making decisions,” said Reese.

In addition to working for the township, Reese was employed by International Paper for five years as a Paper Machine Leader. He worked at Dunkle and Grieb managing their small engine repair business, managed his own small engine repair business, and was a truck driver for TLC Fuels. Reese also served in the Army Reserves for twenty-five years from 1980-2005. He retired as a Staff Sergeant after serving on active duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom for one and a half years.

A native of Clinton County and resident of Pine Creek Township for the past thirty-two years, Reese is a 1980 graduate of Lock Haven High School. He taught Auto Body classes part-time at Central Mountain High School. He is the son of the late John Reese and Maxine Rhinehart and has one brother and one sister.

He and his wife Debra have been married for thirty-three years, are the parents of four adult children, Shannon Reese, Jonathan Reese, Dustin Moore, and Kristen McKivison. They are blessed with six grandchildren.

Reese is a member of the Pine Creek Valley Christian Church where he serves as a Deacon and Building and Grounds Trustee. His favorite past times include spending time with his family, riding his Harley with his wife Debra, and spending time hunting and vacationing with family and friends.

Edwards owns and operates Pine Mountain Excavating which he started in 2004. He first began working on his family’s 90-acre dairy farm, moved on to Avis America, North Star Steel, and worked for eleven years at Jersey Shore Steel.

Through his jobs, Edwards says he has learned many skills, to include working efficiently as part of a team to get things done correctly and on time; communicating effectively and maintaining goodwill with co-workers; implementing good financial practices and fiscal responsibility; and working with engineers. He understands and is skilled at infrastructure work to include water, sewer, and roads.

Born and raised in Jersey Shore, Edwards is a 1986 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. He is the son of Dean and Linda Edwards, who live in Piatt Township, Lycoming County, and has one brother and two sisters.
