LH men’s basketball remains undefeated at home; soars past Bloomsburg
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men’s basketball team (10-2, 6-1 PSAC) trailed just once, and rolled to an 82-71 victory over Bloomsburg University (0-11, 0-7 PSAC) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest on Saturday afternoon in Thomas Fieldhouse.
For The Haven, the win marked their third in a row and keeps the Bald Eagles tied with East Stroudsburg atop the PSAC Eastern Division standings at 6-1 in conference play. The in-form Bald Eagles have won eight out of their last nine.
After Bloomsburg opened the scoring at 2-0, The Haven never trailed again and slowly built their lead as high as 13 points with four minutes to play in the first half. The Huskies closed the gap slightly, but LHU took a 45-38 lead into the second half.
Out of the halftime break, Bloomsburg cut the lead to five points, but that’s as close as the Huskies got. Lock Haven responded immediately and went on an extended 21-5 run to put the game out of reach at 66-45 with 10 minutes to play.
The Huskies attempted to string together a late run, but The Haven shut the door and cruised home with the 82-71 conference victory.
Jayy Davis (Cheltenham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham (Washington Adventist)) led a balanced Lock Haven scoring attack with a game-high 20 points on 7-12 from the field and 4-6 from beyond the arc.

Price paced The Haven on the glass and notched a double-double with a game-high ten boards, and he also dominated the paint with three blocks.
LHU held a stark 48-27 advantage in rebounding as Montague chipped in eight while Davis and Shoats each hauled in seven.
The Bald Eagles made it rain from outside shooting 50 percent from three-point range. Davis’s four made threes led the way while Adam Freese (Stewartstown, Pa./Kennard-Dale) notched two of his own.
The Haven travels to Mansfield on Wednesday (Jan. 11) for a conference clash with the Mounties. That game is set for a 7:30 start.
