Evans & Robinson sweep PSAC East Women’s Basketball weekly awards

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Madeline Evans and Alana Robinson swept the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Offensive and Defensive Weekly awards, the conference office announced on Monday, Jan. 12.

The Bald Eagles have brought home five PSAC weekly awards this season, with three from Evans and a pair from Robinson.

The duo also swept the offensive and defensive honors on November 24.

After an up-and-down start to conference play, The Haven has righted the ship after starting Eastern Division play 2-0 to improve to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in the PSAC.

Headlining the run was the play on both ends of the court from Robinson and Evans.

Evans, who is averaging a 14-point, 13-rebound double-double this season, scored 30 points and pulled in 31 rebounds over the two victories.

Against Shepherd, Evans scored 16 points and pulled in a season-high 19 rebounds. At Kutztown, Evans secured another double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Evans has had a double-double in 11 games this season and leads the conference in rebounding.

Robinson was a menace on the defensive end and racked up seven steals and two blocks, while averaging 10 rebounds per victory.

In the victory over Shepherd, the senior finished with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal. Against Kutztown, Robinson added 13 points, 14 rebounds, six steals and four assists in 37 minutes of action.

Robinson ranks first in the PSAC in blocks per game (2.2) and sixth in steals per game (2.6).
