Lady Braves down Lady Wildcats, 47-36
SUNBURY, PA – The Central Mountain girls’ basketball team started off the new year on the road at Shikellamy High School on Tuesday, and the host Lady Braves held off the Lady ‘Cats by a 47-36 margin.
Kiahna Jones led the CM effort with 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots. Other scorers were Tara Mader with 9, Taylor Doyle with 6, and Ava Doyle and Danica Kelly with 3 points each. Ava Doyle chipped in with 6 rebounds, Keely Rohrbach with 4 as Central Mountain held its own on the boards, totaling 30.
Central Mountain was held to a 30 percent shooting night, 15 for 50, and struggled at the foul line, going 5 for 20. They also committed 18 turnovers.
The Lady Wildcats dropped to 3-5 with the loss, Shik now 2-7 with the win. Next Lady ‘Cat action is at Danville (2-6) on Friday.
